A wheel bearing is a mechanical component used to create rotational motion in power transmission systems, also known as “rolling-element bearings”. Ball bearings and roller bearings are the two types of wheel bearings however most cars use ball bearings because they last longer and can support more weight. They consist of a set of rotating balls or rollers held between two metal rings called races. The balls or rollers reduce the friction between the moving parts and keep everything running smoothly.
